The universal Zigbee USB gateway

The ConBee II replaces several manufacturer-specific with a single gateway and supports many Zigbee devices from well-known brands. Check out the ConBee II compatibility list to learn more.

A cloud free solution

The control is done locally via the Phoscon App. In addition to this there are community supported home automation systems such as Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, openHAB, FHEM, HomeSeer, Homebridge, ioBroker and WebThings Gateway in which the ConBee II is integrated.

This opens up many exciting possibilities to integrate the Zigbee devices supported by ConBee II into home automation.

Compatibilidad:

ConBee II Inspográfico inalámbrico en el hogar

Platform independent

The ConBee II transforms mini computers such as Raspberry Pi and Intel NUC, as well as PCs and laptops into universal Zigbee gateways.

Compatibility

The Phoscon solution is compatible with a wide range of lights, switches and sensors from well-known vendors.

High signal range

The ConBee II has an outstanding range thanks to its signal amplifier. This makes it possible to use 2-3 rooms or to bridge floors.

Further distant devices are connected by the Zigbee mesh network. In this all permanently powered Zigbee devices, such as lights and plugs, act as a repeater and can transfer the signal.

Worked Great With Home Assistant
Setup a friend's shop with Home Assistant and a Raspberry Pi. First time I'd used that setup in a long time, and it was much easier. He only had the Aeotec Z-Wave USB dongle, so I ordered this one for him. Plugged it in and HA saw it, configured it and it was ready to go in less than 2 minutes. Controlling his Zigbee devices like a champ now.

This adapter, along with Home Assistant, has been powering my smart home for almost 2 years with no issues. It appears to be surprisingly durable too - I accidentally tipped over the computer it was plugged into and it landed right on this and bent it, but after bending back it worked perfectly. Wouldn't recommend trying that, but it shows off the build quality!

# # 1) start the 'phoscon app' from the 'deconz app' ui

I purchased this to flash it to a thread border router, and other than having to do it on an actual windows machine and not a VM, it worked well. Once I flashed it with the thread border router firmware, I plugged it into Home Assistant and set it up. All is working fine. If you are looking for instructions for flashing it, search for conbee II thread border router in your favorite search engine, you'll find instructions.

This was the cheapest way to get a thread border router.

Prior to the Conbee II, I tried using a HUSBZB-1 in Home Assistant and had no luck at all discovering devices with it. Nothing but a buggy, irritating mess.

Then, I got a CC2531 and used Zigbee2mqtt. Worked well enough, but the range on my devices was really bad despite having mostly repeaters for my zigbee network and adding devices meant modifying the config and rebooting HASS which was less than ideal.

Eventually, the Conbee II came back in stock and I grabbed one to see if it would ease my Zigbee woes.

It does! (For the most part). My devices have a great signal now and my network is mostly stable. Two of my Outlets (both Tradfri) drop off the network everyday but they also did that on Zigbee2mqtt so I suspect that it’s more of an issue with the outlets than the Conbee. Very happy with this purchase.

I originally purchased the Aqara Hub M2 for my Aqara sensors (window/door, temp, water, motion). Problem was that the Hub did not pass on my water sensors to Home Assistant. That was a deal breaker for me. I then tried the Sonoff stick, and had similar issues, except the Motion Sensor would not show any updates/changes and I had lots of troubles with pairing. I then tried the Conbee and everything showed up nicely!

Setup was not super smooth (did not automatically get detected), but I eventually figured it out. Adding devices was pretty easy. The web UI is nice, but definitely needs some enhancements (annoying help pop ups always show up when you go into Conbee).

Overall, I am happy because I accomplished my goal.

if you are looking at this, then you are looking into home automation, so you already know that there are 3 major connections, WiFi, Zigbee and Z-Wave, this does great for the Zigbee connections, I have mostly sensors as zigbee devices because of the lower power usage increasing battery life. This USB Stick did also help with the battery life compared to when I was in Smart Things. I am using this with in Home Assistant and it works great.

Had this for a while, but only recently got around to setting it up with my Domoticz HA. Deconz (the software from the manufacturer) is easy to get and install. It just worked for me. Got to the companion 'web app' that is installed with it, click to add a sensor, press the button on the do-hickie, and off you go! Much better than I expected and they have support for a lot of gadgets in there. I've only added the aquaria stuff so far, but that was failed to add back into my aquaria hub for some reason, and this just detected them. Too a couple goes to pair some stuff, but I belive that is fairly normal. Seems like a good product.

Deutscher Hersteller/Vertreiber/Entwickler.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing zigbee router.
Reviewed in the Netherlands on August 1, 2022
I have now likw 30 different sensors connected to it. I'm using thier phoscon app via docker container and it works fine. I have connected XiAomi sensors, BlitzWolf smart plugs, hue bulbs and Tradfri bulbs. Easy to add and manage them with the Phoscon app. Im using Home Assistant for controlling and monitoring them.

Only issue i seen is when my docker container (Phoscon app) goes down, some of the Xiaomi sensor got disconnected and i had to manually add them again but I think it's the sensor issue rather than Conbee stick.

I would also advice to have couple of smart bulbs and smart plugs in between as they will works a repeater for the conbee's zigbee network if you have lots of sensors like me. That covers the 3 floors I have here.

I definitely recommend Conbee 2, I even bought a second one for my parents home.
